Yufei Xu

Yufei joined Dewpoint as Head of Cancer Biology in February 2025, bringing over 12 years of drug discovery and development experience in oncology, immuno-oncology, and cardiovascular-metabolic diseases in both large pharmaceutical and biotech industries. He has successfully led multiple drug discovery projects spanning various modalities.

Before Dewpoint, Yufei was the sixth employee and Senior Director of Biology at TRIANA Biomedicines. Prior to that, he spent nine years at Novartis in roles of increasing responsibility, where he led drug discovery projects from target identification to preclinical development in cardiovascular-metabolic (CVM) and immuno-oncology (IO) diseases, and built and managed the discovery and in vitro pharmacology group in IO.

Yufei holds a Ph.D. in cancer immunology from Peking Union Medical College and completed postdoctoral training in viral immunology and cancer biology at Harvard Medical School. He has authored 18 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals, with over 3,000 citations, including two (co)-first author papers in Cell and a first-author paper in Molecular Cell.

Outside of work, Yufei enjoys running, fishing, gardening, reading, and spending time with his wife, kids and dog.
